During the late 1970’s Jobs, along with co-founder of Apple Inc Steve Wozniak and others designed , developed and marketed one of the first successful ersonal computers. From 1997, he served as interim CEO of Apple Inc, becoming the premanent CEO in 2000. Diagnosed with Cancer in 2004, he was eventually forced to resign as CEO in August 2011.
Working For Pixar And Disney
In 1986 Jobs bought The Graphics Group from Lucasfilms computer graphics division, initially intended as a high-end graphics hardware developer. Pixar suffered years of unprofitability until contracting with Disney to produce a number of computer animated feature films, co-financed and distributed by Disney. Starting with Toy Story in 1995 and ending with Toy Story 3 2010.
In 2003 and 2004, with Pixars contact with Disney coming to an end, Jobs was unable to negotiate a new partnership with Disney chief executive Michael Eisner.
In October 2005, Bob Iger took over from Eisner at Disney. He worked quickly to patch things up Jobs, announcing in January 2006 that Disney had agreed to purchase Pixar. With the deal official and closed, Jobs became the single largest shareholder of the Disney Company with around seven per cent of company stock.
